Volunteers at Leonard Hospital
School Health Dental Programme Since 2013

Dental Students (Scotland)

Organised by Catherine and Alan Low · School House Abroad, Ballater, Scotland

Every year since 2013, a batch of students from dental universities all over the United Kingdom visit Leonard Hospital to participate in our School Health Dental Programme.

Under the supervision of Dr Balakumar BDS from Sri Lanka along with Dr Sr Alice BDS, Leonard Hospital, these UK dental students render their services and gain experience in a foreign country.

Leonard Hospital organises accommodations and other amenities for the students and links them with partner programmes and schools:

Reaching the Unreached (RTU), Ganguvarpatti St Thomas Primary School Holy Cross Hr Sec School, Batlagundu St Teresa Middle School, Kodaikanal Holy Cross Convent boarders, Karisalpatti

The children who are helped in these programmes receive primary dental care all through the month by the UK volunteers. Extended dental procedures are followed up by the Leonard Hospital Dental Department.

“Thanks, Catherine and Alan!”
